About The Potter's Shed

The Potter’s Shed is our creative home in Shell Lake, Wisconsin, where art, community, and creativity come together in one unique space. What began as a pottery studio has grown into a 20,000 square foot art campus filled with things to explore, create, and enjoy.

At the heart of The Potter’s Shed is our production studio, where our family creates the artwork and pottery that appear in the Spooner Creek and Macone Clay collections. Visitors can often see creativity happening firsthand as new designs and pieces take shape.

Connected to the studio is our art gallery, which features the work of more than 100 artists. The gallery includes pottery, paintings, jewelry, sculpture, home décor, and many other forms of handcrafted artwork. Our goal is to create a space where visitors can discover something new and experience the incredible creativity of artists from around the region and beyond.

The Potter’s Shed is also home to our café and coffee shop, where guests can relax with a cup of coffee, enjoy light food, and take in the artistic surroundings. Many people stop in simply to unwind, visit with friends, or take a break while exploring the gallery.

For those who want to create their own artwork, our Creative Zone offers hands-on experiences where visitors can paint their own pottery or make custom wood signs. Families, friends, and visitors of all ages enjoy the opportunity to make something personal and memorable to take home.

Outside, our gardens provide another place to explore. Hidden throughout the landscape are tiny fairy doors and whimsical details waiting to be discovered. Visitors can even follow a map to search for the fairies who are said to live among the flowers and pathways.

During the summer months, The Potter’s Shed becomes an even more lively gathering place with live music on Friday evenings. Guests can enjoy the gardens, music, and the creative atmosphere that makes this place special.

The Potter’s Shed is truly a family effort. Over the years we have been fortunate to build an amazing team of creative and dedicated people who help bring new ideas, events, and experiences to life.
